ana Aguilar

Ana Aguilar is the founder and pastry chef of Tantísimo, a Mexicana-owned bakery and kitchen in Nashville, Tennessee, known for reimagining traditional Mexican pastries and street snacks through a farm-to-table approach.

Aguilar taught herself to bake at the age of 16 after searching for birthday cakes that met her own high standards. Although baking began as a personal passion, she didn't envision it becoming a career until the COVID-19 pandemic inspired her to launch Tantito Pastelito, supplying pastries for local favorites Maíz de la Vida and El León Dorado. As her menu expanded to include savory dishes inspired by family recipes, the business evolved into Tantísimo, reflecting a broader vision of celebrating Mexican culinary traditions.

Drawing inspiration from the food she grew up with and the vibrant Nashville culinary community, Aguilar is dedicated to honoring traditional Mexican flavors with thoughtfully sourced ingredients and scratch-made preparations. From handcrafted pan dulce and pastries to seasonal specialties and classic street foods, every item reflects her commitment to quality, sustainability, and authentic flavor.

Today, Tantísimo has become a beloved destination for diners seeking creative, ingredient-driven Mexican cuisine that bridges tradition and innovation while supporting local farms and businesses.
