The 2026 ¡HICA! Scholarship is Open
Deadline: April 30, 2026 by 5:00 pm
Requirements: All applicants must submit the application and the required documents listed below:
1. Education Intent: Copy of acceptance letter to the institution or program and proof of enrollment or class schedule. Other documentation may be admissible.
2. Proof of Financial Need: Copy of the FAFSA or copy of tax return for the year 2024/2025, whichever is available (Form 1040).
3. Letter of Recommendation: Submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, coach, or family friend.
4. Academic Record: Preference will be given to students who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for high school courses or 2.75 for college courses. Submit a copy of an official or unofficial transcript.
5. Resume.
All requested documents may be scanned and emailed to scholarships@hicaalabama.org or mailed with the envelope postmarked by the day of the deadline to ¡HICA! 117 Southcrest Drive Birmingham, AL 35209.
