Eulogio Miguel migrated from Mexico to the U.S. 12 years ago in search of the American dream. For Eulogio, a hard-working father and devoted husband, that dream was to own his own business. But without even a high school education, his options were limited. That’s when he sought the guidance and resources available from ¡HICA!
After consulting with us, Eulogio found everything he needed through our Community Economic Development Program, and his dream of owning a business soon became a reality.
In October of 2016, Eulogio became the proud owner of Pizza Star—a pizzeria in Columbiana, Alabama. Thanks to his eagerness, passion, and determination, Pizza Star was an immediate hit, posting earnings of over $300,000 in 2017 and creating multiple job opportunities within his community. That success allowed Eulogio the opportunity to pursue a dream: sending his daughter to college for a business degree in the hopes of her one day running the restaurant.
Through education in business development, ¡HICA! and its Community Economic Development Program continues to support Eulogio during his growth as a business owner. And if you’re ever in Columbiana, we highly recommend stopping in for a slice or two at the Pizza Star. You won’t regret it!
