¡HICA! DENUNCIA NUEVA REGLA DE TARIFA DE USCIS
El viernes 31 de julio, los Servicios de Ciudadanía e Inmigración de EE. UU. (USCIS por sus siglas en ingles). Anunciaron sus nuevas tarifas de inmigración con un aumento escandaloso en los precios. Los solicitantes de naturalización y asilo están altamente desfavorecidos por la regla final.
“USCIS casi ha duplicado la tarifa de naturalización. Este es un intento de negar a los inmigrantes que han hecho todo lo correcto el acceso a todos los beneficios de la ciudadanía. Esto, junto con una nueva tarifa para el asilo y la eliminación de las exenciones de tarifas, deja en claro que el gobierno está decidido a ponerle un precio a los inmigrantes y solicitantes de asilo del sueño americano ", dijo Isabel Rubio, directora ejecutiva de ¡HICA!
La regla está programada para entrar en vigencia el 2 de octubre de 2020. La tarifa de naturalización aumentó un 83 por ciento de $640 a $1,170. Esto hará que muchos solicitantes no puedan pagarlo y las nuevas reglas de tarifas podrían evitar o retrasar que muchos inmigrantes ajusten su estatus migratorio.
Algunas de las otras aplicaciones que se ven afectadas por el aumento de las tarifas son:
Eliminación de la condición, aumentó un 28 por ciento de $595 a $760
I-765 Autorización de empleo (no DACA), aumentó 34 por ciento de $410 a $550
La petición I-929 para miembro calificado de un no inmigrante U1, aumentó 546 por ciento de $230 a $1,485

¡HICA! DENOUNCES NEW USCIS FEE RULE
On Friday, July 31st, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced their new immigration fees with an outrageous increase in prices. Naturalization and asylum applicants are highly disadvantaged by the final rule.
“USCIS has nearly doubled the fee for naturalization. This is an attempt to deny immigrants who have done everything right access to the full benefits of citizenship. This, in conjunction with a new fee for asylum and the elimination of fee waivers, makes it clear that the government is determined to price out immigrants and asylum seekers from the American Dream,” said Isabel Rubio, ¡HICA!’s Executive Director
The rule is scheduled to go into effect on Oct. 2, 2020. The Naturalization fee increased 83 percent from $640 to $1,170. This will make it impossible for many applicants to afford it and the new fee rules could prevent or delay many immigrants from adjusting their immigrant status.
Some of other applications being affected by the increase of fees are:
Removal of condition, increased 28 percent from $595 to $760
I-765 Employment authorization (non-DACA), increased 34 percent from $410 to $550
I-929 petition for qualifying member of a U1 nonimmigrant, increased 546 percent from $230 to $1,485
