Job Requirements
This position is responsible for assisting the Parent Educator and Director with administrative program needs. This position is responsible for Instructing parenting classes in Spanish as needed. Maintaining and preparing group material; researching and active leadership and participation in community outreach activities for recruitment purposes.
Minimum Education: Associate or Bachelor degree preferred. Education and/or experience in Social Work, Psychology, Human and Child Development, Counseling or Sociology receives additional preferred consideration.
Minimum Work Experience: One year
Required Licenses/Certifications: Licensed or license eligible, if applicable to degree. Valid Alabama driver license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills; Computer proficiency with preference given to experience with online platforms and electronic record keeping; ability to motivate clients and assist them in changing behaviors; knowledge of community resources; understanding of children, parenting, basic life skills and ability to teach them to others; and ability to work well with other team members. Ability to demonstrate cultural and socioeconomic proficiency. Understanding of trauma informed care in both client service and office environments. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and knowledgeable of Hispanic/Latinx culture.
Required Internal Certification/Trainings: Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report, clearances, program specific training. Physical requirements: Travel, minimal overnight. Light lifting may be required.
Essential Functions of Position
Demonstrates proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and Outlook and online platforms.
Responds readily and appropriately to meet program administrative needs of staff.
Develops and maintains procedures and forms in English and Spanish as necessary for the efficient and effective administration and operation of the program.
Supports the provision of all statewide services including assistance with recruitment.
Assists with setting up consumer and program files and reporting to CTF/Auburn.
As needed orders office and program supplies.
Assists in the support of special events as needed; attends Health Fairs, All Staff meetings and regional meetings as needed.
Responds to clients in a warm, efficient, effective, and timely manner; responds quickly to all referrals, and other sources in identifying needs and documenting results.
Ensures the provision of group and community-based services which include, but are not limited to, linking each family served to community resources, peer support, and advocacy.
Ensures timely completion of client documentation and reports for grant/program; submits monthly data to meet grant requirements.
Organizes and teaches EPIC parenting classes as needed.
Conducts follow-up services with EPIC clients, including but not limited to telephone calls, emails, and notification of follow-up groups and relevant training.
Participates in individual and/or group meetings, in–service training and all-staff meetings. Develops an ever-increasing understanding of trauma informed care and how best to implement that knowledge into daily practice.
Participates actively in the agency PQI process and serves on agency committees as nominated.
