Victim and Court Advocate, Strong Families Program
The Victim and Court Advocate is a full-time position for a bilingual-bicultural Spanish/English individual who will assist victims of crime in understanding legal remedies provided by law enforcement and the criminal justice system and who will support the survivor through the process of seeking relief from the abuser. The direct service responsibilities include providing support, information, advocacy and court accompaniment to victims of crime including assistance with Protection from Abuse Orders, civil, criminal and other court matters and legal referral. Women/Survivor Advocate, Strong Families Program
The Women/Survivor Advocate provides Latinas with knowledge and skills to become leaders and facilitates workshops and “charlas” in a safe space conducive to learning, self-expression, and higher self-esteem. The Women/Survivor advocate leads the Leadership groups, empowers victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, both at ¡HICA! and in the community, to develop, pursue and achieve their goals and live free of violence while promoting ¡HICA!’s mission.
